About
Does your skin actually need more skincare, or does it just need more water?
That question became the starting point for Plainfolk.
I’m Dorothy, the founder, and I started thinking about it after noticing that the biggest difference in my own skin didn’t come from adding another serum or treatment. It came from layering more watery hydration.
When my skin looked dull and dry, several light layers made it look fresher and helped soften the appearance of fine dehydration lines. Makeup sat better too. But I didn’t always want to spend time applying everything one step at a time.
So I started mixing.
A little toner. A drop or two of serum. Pat it in and move on.
It was faster, simpler, and helped a small amount of serum spread more evenly across my skin.
That became the idea behind Plainfolk.
Start with water.
We believe hydration is the foundation of a skincare routine.
Serums and creams can hydrate too, but sometimes you don’t need another pump of treatment or a richer layer. You just want more water.
More hydration shouldn’t have to mean more serum.
Skin Water gives you a lightweight base you can layer as much or as little as your skin needs. Skin Drops let you add something extra when you want it.
Mix them in your palm. Pat them on. One layer or five.
Some days your skin needs more. Some days you have thirty seconds.
The point isn’t to build the perfect routine.
It’s to make taking care of your skin simple enough that it fits into your life.
Start with water. Add what you need. Get on with your day.
